Cedar Point decided to break the 200 foot barrier in 1989, and ten years later, this park known world-wide as the roller coast announced its plans to build the world's first coaster to break the 300 foot barrier. There has been alot of debating going on about whether Superman: The Escape as Six Flags Magic Mountain and Tower Of Terror at Dreamworld Australia are truely taller roller coasters. I think that they are more designed to give you a freefall type feeling and they should be considered the world's tallest thrill rides. Anyway, this massive coaster known as an Intamin "giga-coaster" will peak 310 feet over the park and drop 300 feet at an amazing 80 degree angle reaching a top speed of 92 miles per hour. It will also introduce the world's first elevator cable system for a quicker ride up, a magnetic braking system, and a banked turn reaching 122 degrees, leaving you almost inverted.
