Ride Reviews
Busch Gardens Williamsburg

Alpengeist
Don't get me wrong, this is a great coaster, but it did not live up to my expectations. Its massive height really played part in looking at the monster, but when on the ride, everything just went by too fast for my liking. I really enjoyed the pure smoothness of this coaster and I must have still liked it alot because I still rode it all day, but I couldn't believe that I wasn't all that impressed. This coaster is great, but I still love Cedar Point's Raptor.

Drachen Fire
Well, while we all wonder what is actually going to happen to this coaster, I"m just glad I actually got to ride it. I visited Busch Gardens exactly one week before Drachen Fire closed in the summer of 1998. I think that there are coasters alot rougher than this one if thats what is holding BGW from opperating this thing. This coaster was in my opinion, the best arrow looping coaster I have ever been on. The greatest part about this coaster was the first inversion which left you hanging out of your seat well over 100 feet in the air. So if BGW does decide to tear this one down, I think they are truely making a big mistake.

The Big Bad Wolf
This Arrow suspended coaster is pretty wild as it weaves in and out of a small village. It really feels like you are going to hit a whole lot of things, but once you make it safely through the little town, you are in for a huge drop right over the Rhine River where you get sprayed in the face by a refreshing mist. This coaster is a little on the bumpy side, but still more fun than other Arrow suspended coasters.

The Loch Ness Monster
This Arrow coaster is probably one of the most beautiful coasters ever constructed. It has 2 interlocking loops, a great first drop right over the Rhine River, and an amazingly long tunnel midway through the ride. I really enjoy this coaster, especially in the front seat.

Wilde Maus
I'm not a big fan of these new wild mouse coasters. It might possibly be fun for the younger ones, but the line was longer than Alpengeist when I was there, and there is truely something wrong with that picture.
